Douglas Paul Diederich's Obituary
Douglas Paul Diederich, 65, Mexico, Missouri, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, peacefully with his family at his side at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, Lockwood Park Baptist Church in Mexico, MO at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be from 11-1 on Saturday at the church. Services will be live streamed at 1:00 PM through the HT May & Son Funeral Home Facebook page and can be found at https://www.facebook.com/htmayfuneralhome.
Douglas Diederich was born June 22, 1958, in Mexico, Missouri, to Albert and Nadine Diederich. He was a graduate of Mexico and went on to work in the health care field working various roles from Para Transit Coordinator to EMS services.
Douglas was a man of many talents and hobbies. He loved Mustangs and all things related to cars and racing of any kind. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and camping. Most importantly he was devoted to health care and helping people in a multitude of ways. His humble heart will be missed by all the people he came across. Douglas was a member of the Dinosaurs of EMS. One of his greatest accomplishments was his sobriety of 23 years. He was also an ordained minister which allowed him to officiate the unions of some of his dear friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his significant other Paula Runde of the home in Mexico, children Benjamin (Tessah Shaw) Diederich and Carolina (Kathryn) Hall Diederich, children of the heart Michael, Jlin, Krista and Mary, siblings Dallas (Linda) Diederich, Dennis Diederich and Drew (Ouida) Diederich, grandchildren: Jayden, Tyler, Kai, Riley, Abel, Xavier, Hunter and Baby Joe, sister-in-law Michelle Flowerree, and numerous other friends and family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Kathy Diederich and his beloved dog Geronimo.
