Dora Jane Black's Obituary
Dora J. Black, 67, of Columbia was received into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Boone Hospital Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at St. Luke United Methodist Church at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 11-1 Saturday at the church.
Dora Jane Black was born July 3, 1947 in Columbia, Mo., the daughter of Howard Stevenson and May Louise Crews. She attended Douglas School and Columbia College. She also sang in a band called Etta Kat and the Kittens, and played softball for C.B.’s Angels. She worked as an administrative secretary in St. Louis, Mo. for 40 years until she retired. She married James Black in St. Louis. She was a member of the Church of God in Christ.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons Tony (Teresa) Crews, Terry Tatum and Timothy Wright all of Columbia, Mo., two daughters Sheri Wright of Tampa, Fl., and Felisa Wright of St. Louis, Mo. two sisters Linnie Cady and Ada Williams both of Denver, Co., and two brothers Ed Crews of Columbia, Mo., and Richard Crews of France, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Russell Crews.
