Diana S Arndt's Obituary
With love and remembrance, we celebrate the life of Diana S. Arndt, 80, of Boonville, Missouri, formerly of Slater, who passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Riverdell Care Center.
Born on June 3, 1944, in Gilliam, Missouri, Diana was the beloved daughter of James Chester Lackland and Virginia Willis Lackland. She lived her life with a vibrant spirit and a deep love for family and friends. In her younger years, she embraced life to the fullest, enjoying good times, great company, and always making sure those around her felt welcome. Her passion for cooking was undeniable—if you visited Diana’s home, you didn’t leave hungry. She found joy in caring for others, whether it was her own children and grandchildren or the many little ones she lovingly babysat over the years.
Diana's greatest love was Everett Chess, with whom she shared a deep and meaningful bond. She treasured her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always putting family at the center of her heart.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of her children: David Barber, Nickey Cole (David), James Barber (Valerie), and Natalie McKee (David). She will be dearly missed by her siblings, Bryce Lackland, Jerry Lackland, Donna Plexico, and Glenda Amos (Troy). Diana was a proud grandmother to Natasha Bruce, Jasmine Cole, Alonzo Cole, Justice McKee, Jaden McKee, Jamesian McKee, Jenna-Lyn McKee, Dominic Barber, Josh Barber, Isaiah Barber, Liam Barber, and Michale Barber, and a beloved great-grandmother to Natalia Bruce, Trinity Bruce, Christine Snell, Phoenix Cole, Mars Jamesian McKee and Bella, and also several nieces and nephews.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, her son George Barber Jr., and her brothers Bobby Lackland, Randy Lackland, and Ronnie Lackland, as well as her niece, Nickey Adkins.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Firm Foundation Foursquare Church in Boonville, Missouri. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor and celebrate Diana’s life.
Diana’s love, laughter, and warmth will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
Memorials are suggested to Natalie McKee and family.
