Delores Baskett's Obituary
Delores “Poochie” “Aunt Dee Dee” Baskett, 72, of Rock Island ,Il. Formerly Boonville, passed away Sunday June 7, 2015 at Unity Point Hospital in Rock Island. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 13, 2015 at 11 am at Morgan Street Baptist Church in Boonville. The visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 am Saturday at the church.
Delores J. Baskett was born November 11, 1942, the daughter of Richard W. Williams and Margaret L Williams of Boonville, Missouri. She married James T. Baskett on September 17, 1960 at her parent’s home, and to this union there were no children. Delores was known by many in Missouri as “Poochie” which she later dropped that nickname and became Aunt DeeDee. She had all the love in the world for all of her family and she and her husband embraced the role as parents to all her nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews throughout their lives. She enjoyed spoiling them with her love, wisdom and chastisement. She was a wonderful mother and the backbone to them all.

She had many, many wonderful friends and a very special group of friends that was always by her side near or from a far, Ms. Sara Jones, Ms. Ida, Ms. Kat and last but not least, her Best Friend Ms. Doris Gamble, who she truly loved dearly.
Delores enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, and most of all watching those darn Housewives shows. Delores loved her family more than anything in life. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, J.T. Baskett, her aunt Martha Finney and all the family members listed above. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Anna M. Harris and Helen L. Reynolds and brother Richard Williams.
