Darrell Jones' Obituary
It is with deepest regret that we announce that Darrell Jones of Columbia entered into paradise on Monday, June 17, 2013 at his home in Columbia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 22, 2013 at 11 am at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia. Visitation will be held from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
Darrell Jones was born on May 31, 1958 in Columbia, Missouri to Ernest and Sena Jones.
He graduated from Hickman High School in 1977, and attended college in Colorado. Darrell was employed by the Railroad, VA, and retired from Square D.
Darrell loved his vehicles, especially his Audi and truck. He enjoyed sports: basketball and football. Darrell stayed in great physical shape for years playing basketball. He was an avid Mizzou Tiger fan. Darrell loved his family, friends, children, and grandchildren.
Darrell is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Jones, a sister, Carol Jones, and two infant grandsons.
He is survived by Sena Jones, mother; fiance Sharla Lawhorn Edwards; brothers: Mark (Fontella) Jones of Columbia, Richard (Kathy) Jones of Columbia, Lester (Desiree) Jones of Boonville, Rodney of Aurora, Colorado, Clyde (Veronica) Jones of Columbia, Mark Jones of Moberly, Jeffrey (Rossia) Jones of St. Louis, Deon Jones of Columbia; sisters Masonya (Joe) Rowles of O’Fallon, Elisha (Bishop) Denny of Columbia, and Heather Jones of Moberly; children, Tori Jones of Kansas City, Anthony Jones of Columbia, Jared Armstrong of Atlanta, Shante Loethen Of Columbia, Angelo Merriweather of St. Louis, and Tashanda Walker of Kansas City; grandchildren, Loren, Taliyah, Tony Jr, and Cosette; stepchildren Evelyn Lawhorn of Columbia, Xochilt Lawhorn of Memphis, TN, Thomas Coats of Columbia and Alfonzo Lawhorn of Columbia, step-grandchildren, Jason, Taja’Mir, Jeremiah, Antwane, Qureshawn, Cae’Len, Khalil; a special grandson James; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
