Cory Crosby's Obituary
Cory Eugene Crosby was born on April 4, 1987 in Bakersfield, California to Deborah and Larry Lane. He attended Columbia Public Schools and later took classes at Columbia College.
Cory had a heart for his community. He believed in giving back. This belief and conviction led him to serve as a mentor and role model to many young men. With a soul full of ambition and determination, He authored the children's book "When My Dad Comes Home". He opened a gymn, "2Real Fitness", where he served as a physical trainer and instructor, and in 2019 his labor landed him on Columbia's Top 20 under 40 list.
Cory was a sharp dresser with an elaborate wardrobe and a mind- boggling shoe collection. Yet, even bigger than that, was his heart, his love for his children and the kindness he extended to others.
With exquisite culinary expertise, Cory prepared mouth-watering dishes, and spent many days attempting to fry "better" chicken than his mother- in- love, Kathy Brown.
Cory was the epitome of self-transformation, perseverance, hard work and dedication. Many would agree that it was a blessing and an encouragement, simply to be in his company.
He transitioned from this life to the next on Friday, April 28, 2023, and was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edgar and Alma Dunlap and his paternal grandmother, Cordie Stephens. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, father, and his adoptive mother, Pamela Tolson. Three beloved children: Cory Crosby, Jr. Monyae'ja Crosby, and Coreem Crosby. One grandson, King Molina. His siblings: Mark Clinton, Kenneth Crosby, Kareem Crosby, Shawn Crosby, Shannon Lucas, Ebony Lane, Justin Lane, Tevin Lane, Charles Tolson, and Cody Tolson. His business partner and love of his life, Tyra Joi Raybon, and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, family and friends.
