Clemoris Allen's Obituary
Clemoris Allen, 93, of Boonville, passed into eternity on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Cooper County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 25, 2011 at St. Matthew AME Church in Boonville. Visitation will be from 10- 11 am Saturday at the church.
Clemoris was born on February 8, 1918 in Boonville, Mo. the daughter of the late Leslie and Mamie Brown. She was preceded in death by her brother Alvin Brown and sisters Gladys Crook and Maxine Estill.
Clemoris was united to her high school sweetheart whom she met while attending Sumner School, the late Howard F. Allen on March 31, 1945. Together they shared 57 wonderful years. She and her husband enjoyed all facets of travel and vacationed in various parts of the world.
She was a long time member of People Institutional Baptist Church in Seattle, Washington. Once moving to Boonville she attended St. Matthew AME Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved daughter Ophelia Pierre of Denver, CO., her best friend and sister Roberta McGill, of Boonvillle, Mo., sister-in-law Eugenia Brown of Taylor, MI., nieces Sharon(Derryl) Durden of Seattle, WA., Chaneta Elbert of Boonville, Mo., Janice Estill of Columbia, Mo., Corita Estill of Olathe, Ks., Anita Guess(James) of Buffalo, Ny., Lucille(Clark) Smith of Bellvue, Wa., nephews Terrance (Carol) Crook of Boonville, Mo., Gilbert(Loretta) Crook of Clinton, Ma., Robert (Sonni) Estill of Houston, Tx., and a host of grand nieces and nephews along with many other relatives and friends.
