Clementine Davis Hayward was born March 3, 1945, in Charleston, Missouri to William R. Davis and Minnie Pearl Burnett. She met and married the love of her life, Edward Hayward in Junction City, Kansas on August 31, 1964. They were married just short of 58 years. To this union three sons were born.
During Edward's stint in the armed services the couple traveled and lived overseas and in many states across the country. Their last move was to Columbia, Missouri in 2009, where they united with Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. Tina was very active in the life of the church. She was on the Deaconess board where she serves alongside Deacon Hayward. Over the years she held the offices of President and Vice President of that board. She taught Sunday School, sang in the Choir, worked in the Women's Missionary Union (WMU) where she served in many offices including President.
Clementine is survived by her beloved husband Edward, their three sons, Ed (Lisa) of Miami, Florida, Keith (Jasmin) of Parker, Colorado, and Kevin (Kerry) of Columbia, Missouri. Tina is also survived by two sisters Hartence Thomas of Ulin, Illinois and Barbara Williams (AKA as Jane) of St. Louis, Missouri, as well as two brothers, Sherman Chilsen of Cleveland, Ohio and Larry Smith of Charleston, Missouri. Along with her children and siblings Tina is also survived by nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Dorothy Anderson, two grandsons Kobe and Kason Hayward and a niece Tanisha WIlliams.
Clementine loved her family fiercely, was an ever faithful servant both at church and beyond, and she was a prayer warrior for so many. Tina thoroughly enjoyed tending to her flowers and gardens, spending time with her family whenever she could, catching up in person or over the phone with her dear friends, including Sue Worshim who was like a sister, and she could play a mean hand of Gin Rummy! Tina will be dearly missed by many and will always be in the hearts of all who have loved her.
