Chauncey Dwayne Jackson, 44, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023.
He was born on November 9, 1979, in Columbia, Missouri to Diana Kay Jackson and Quinndale Allen. He lived in Columbia throughout his life and was a member of the Fredrick Douglas Highschool graduating class of 1999.
Chauncey Dwayne Jackson loved the culinary arts and spent his career working in various kitchens in Columbia and around the country. He had recently achieved becoming a sous chef at Glenn’s Café just before his passing.
Outside of work, Chauncey loved football and cheering for his favorite teams including the Kansas City Chiefs, Mizzou Tigers, and his recently adopted team, the New York Giants. He also loved fishing with his uncles and cooking for all those he loved. He mastered the art of making his friends and family laugh.
A beloved member of a large family, and a cherished friend to many, Chauncey leaves behind many survivors. He is survived by his parents including mother Diana Kay Jackson, father Quinndale Allen (wife Annie Robinson), and extended parents Norman and Teresa Garr. Chauncey was married to Kendall Jordan for 13 years, and to this union they raised three children together, Iseah Jackson, Kehannah Jackson, and Chauncey (CJ) Jackson Jr. Chauncey also leaves behind his children Anjanique Williams, Destiny Patrick, and Donovan Jones and granddaughter, Melani Williams.
He is also survived by his brothers Shaetwyn Allen-Jackson (wife Amanda), Joshua Williams, Quinndale Allen (wife Harmony), and Lorenzo Allen (wife Jayna). Chauncey is also survived by his sisters, Lee Anna Johnson and Jessica Harvey and his cousins he considered sisters, Tosia Mizner, Candace Jones, Brandi Klearman, Juanita Jackson, Sharella Harper, and Tequiero (Cooter) Harper.
Chauncey’s uncles played a special role in his life. He leaves behind uncles Quinton Jones, John Todd, David Jackson, Richard Mizner, Benny Jackson, Dorse Turner, and William Lewis and three aunties Denise Jackson, Diane Lett, and Dorlean Brown. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
Chauncey was preceded in death by his great grandmother Juanita Jones, grandparents Kenneth and Roberta Glover, and Anna (Nanny) Carter, his uncle Harley Jackson Sr., and his aunt Stephanie Moss.
He will be remembered for the warmth that embraced you while in his presence. He possessed a contagious energy that made him dearly and deeply loved by all those he met. He blessed those who knew him with a blueprint for loving everyone without judgement; showing us how to smile through life’s lowest moments and find happiness despite the weight of the world’s stress. Everyone who knew Chauncey will remember his irreplaceable and irreplicable love.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1 at St. Paul A.M.E. located at 501 Park Ave, Columbia, Missouri. Viewing will begin at 10 am followed by the Service at 11 am. After the service there will be a repass at St. Paul A.M.E. to continue honoring and remembering his life. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them for a time of reflection and shared memories.
