Charles T. Walton's Obituary
Charles T."Tommy" Walton, 60, of Lexington, Missouri slept into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at his home. Services will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at 2 PM at Second Baptist Church in Lexington, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM at the church on Sunday.
Charles Thomas Walton, the youngest child of the late Douglas T. Walton and Mabel M. Olden-Walton, was born on December 24, 1956 at Lexington Memorial Hospital in Lexington, Missouri.
"Tommy" as he was called by family and friends, was educated in the Lexington School District, he went on to further his education at the Missouri Welding Institute in Nevada, Missouri where he proudly earned a certificate in Welding. As a young boy, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America Big Muddy District, and Heart of America Council of Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He worked as a laborer for many years, Memory Gardens and Machpelah Cemetery until his health began to fail him. He was also a volunteer for many years at the Lexington Food Pantry.
Tommy gave his life to Christ at the age of 12, under the late Reverend Robert Dabney, Sr. He was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Lexington, Missouri for over 49 years.
Tommy loved life, and lived life to the fullest. He was an avid fan of all sports, loved doing crossword puzzles and hanging out with his friends. The sunset of his life came on October 3, 2017 at the age of 60 at his home, after a brave battle with cancer.
He leaves to cherish his memory a brother Earl Walton, Lexington; brother-in-law Emanuel Mason, Jr.; Nieces Carol Hannon and Cherry Walton (his caregivers), Aressa Walton, Tamala Bowen and Kristy Mallette; Nephews John Kent Walton, Mark Walton, Robert Walton, Vincent Douglass, Elgin Nichols, Stacy Slaughter, Emanuel Mason, III, Reginald Walton, Shaon Robinson, and Mandez Mason; a host of great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, cousins and friends.
His parents; a brother Johnnie; sisters Selena, Rosemary, Rosie Maxine, Joyce and Mable Hortense preceded him in death.
