Charles Johnson's Obituary
Charles Lee (Chuck) Johnson 47 of Fulton Mo transitioned gaining his wings at home in Fulton on February 14, 2022.
Chuck was born on January 30, 1975 to the late Mary Wine and Ralph Johnson.
As a young man Chuck loved the arts. Playing violin, singing, dancing and entertaining family and friends brought him great joy.
In 1991 Chuck moved to Fulton to live with his Grandmother Daisy and finish high school. He graduated from South Calloway High School Mokane Mo in 1993. In 1995 he gained his LPN license from Nichols Career Center. In 2007 he earned his RN from Columbia College. Gaining his RN was a big goal of his. He had a passion for helping others and an outstanding reputation in his field. Most of his nursing career was worked in Calloway county MO. He had a season working on a cruise ship. He loved traveling and adventure. He toured much of Europe visiting Spain, Italy and many other countries. Managing to find a Subway restaurant at every port. He loved food and cooking.
In his early twenties he started performing as a drag queen (Khara Mehl) in Columbia Mo making a name for himself. He was very talented and crafty. He would style his own wigs, make beautiful gowns and elaborate headdresses to perform. It brought him great pleasure performing for his community where he made many lifelong friends.
For many years Chuck would host a large July 4th party where he provided food, entertainment and a huge fireworks show. During his summers he also enjoyed going on float trips with his friends. He is greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish Chuck’s memory include Grandmother Daisy Perry of Fulton. Sister Kimberly Johnson of Clarksville TN. Brothers Martin Johnson (Carrie) of Tebbetts Mo. Ricky Alfson (Rachel) of South Dakota . Chris Johnson (Alishia) of Texas. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Proceeded in death by his parents. Grandfather Charles Perry, sister Mickey Johnson, Uncle Sonny Gilmore, Aunts Judy Bullard and Karen Blackburn. As well as several cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 9, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at VFW Post 2657 in Fulton, Missouri.
