Celestine Ware, 65, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at her home. Arrangements are pending.
Celestine Julia Ware, lovingly known as Pinky, was to the union of Celestial and Emily Ware on November 12, 1955 in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was the youngest of four children born of this union. Both parents, only brother Celestial Ware and eldest sister Revonne Thomas preceded her in death.
Pinky was raised in the city of St. Louis and educated in the St. Louis City public school system. She was employed by Barnes Jewish Children’s hospital for over 25 year of which she retired in 2017. She and Larry Drain were the loving parents of two daughters and two grandchildren. Pinky was always known for her strength and directiveness. You could always count on her for words of wisdom and encouragement. One of her deepest passions was for interior decorating design and her home reflected how much love she displayed for it.
Pinky left this life on Thursday, October 28, 2021. She is survived by her daughters Deiedre Smothers (Roland Smothers), Rhiannon Maryetta Ware (Isaac Buckner), two grandchildren Taylor Rhiannon Ware and Joseph James Smothers, sister Emily Collins (Thomas Collins) and a host of nieces and nephews of whom she loved much.
