Pastor Logan married the love of his life, Marriah D. Brown on October 10, 2010 at Memorial Church International in Kansas City, MO, by Bishop Larry and Pastor Olivia C.Q. Aiken. To this union 3 handsome sons were born, Caleb John-9, Caden James-7 and Cameron Jacob-6. A fourth son, Carter Joshua is due Christmas Day 2020. He is also the father of Ciara and Cecil IV. Cecil and Marriah thoroughly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life by watching and attending sporting events, attending family gatherings, traveling, entertaining family and friends, and working in ministry together. When you saw one, you saw the other followed by the boys.
On the first Sunday of September 2019, he began preaching at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atchison, KS. At the beginning of 2020 he was elected to serve as their Pastor. This year was his year! His dreams were manifesting right before his eyes. He was the PROUD Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He did not take that assignment lightly and took great pride in this role. In just his short time at Ebenezer, he led the church in understanding, embracing, and accomplishing its’ mission to develop disciplines and engaging followers in worship, community, and ministry. He also established the church’s online presence increasing church participation, growth and community engagement. Pastor could be seen every Sunday broadcasting live from the church’s Facebook page.
Pastor Logan had the motto “Where Giving is our Living, Loving is our Life and Jesus is Christ.” A lot of things he did you would never know unless you were on the receiving end. He was a proud member of "The 148" Amos Johnson Masonic Lodge where he served as Chaplain and truly lived out the phrase, I am my brother's keeper. A few knew him from miracle on 74th street when he and some neighbors shoveled the block during a snowstorm to help the ambulance get to a sick neighbor. He spent many hours visiting the sick, sitting with and praying for families as their loved ones transitioned and he also staying in touch afterwards. He spent countless hours counseling and mentoring numerous men and women that society had written off.
At any given time of day or night, you might have seen him in the inner parts of the city handing out sacks of food and goodies that he has personally paid for, prepared and prayed over to the homeless and addicts. Cecil and Marriah started the Dimas Ministry as an outreach effort. On Christmas, they would also buy extra gifts, wraps them and takes them to the children of those individuals so they can have a gift to unwrap on Christmas like other kids. He was a standup man that walked into court rooms with individuals and had cases dismissed because he showed up. He went by himself or with people's loved ones to get them off the street and into treatment. There have been many lives that he has touched that have been able to recover from addiction and saved from suicide!
Pastor Logan has worked in the Humanities field for the last 25+ years. He worked with several agencies including AdHoc Group Against Crime, Heartland Center for Behavioral Change/KCCC, Dismas House, Comprehensive Mental Health Services, Swope Parkway Drug Treatment Center, Benilde Hall, National Counsel on Alcoholism/Drugs, Scott Greening Adolescent Treatment Center, Footprints and Jackson County Family Court. Jones and Sons and also worked with Serenity Memorial Chapel and Elite Funeral Chapel prior to E.S. Eley and Sons.
