Carl Buckner's Obituary
Carl “Batman” Buckner, 86, of Milwaukee, WI, formerly of Columbia, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 8, 2024. Services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 12:00 PM at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbia. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the church on Saturday. Carl Buckner was born on May 20, 1938, in Columbia, MO, to Grover and Dorothy Gordon Buckner. Known for his hardworking nature and vibrant personality, Carl had a diverse career, working as a delivery man in Milwaukee, with the housing authority in Columbia, and as a skilled mechanic for Phillip’s Auto Body. His love for cars and his “go-getter” attitude defined much of his life, as did his deep love for his family and those around him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters, Regina Ingram and Stephanie Buckner, both of Milwaukee, WI; two sons, Charles Buckner of Houston, TX, and Cecil Buckner of Fulton, MO; one sister, Patricia Buckner Hall; 17 nieces, and 20 nephews.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Dorothy Buckner; his son, Carl Eugene Buckner; one sister, Barbara Warren; and one brother, Clyde Buckner.
Carl will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his enthusiasm for life, and his joyful personality. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
