Bruce Jaco's Obituary
Bruce Jerome Jaco, 60, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026.
Bruce (Big Jake) was born August 25,1965 in Moberly, Missouri to Charles and Lena Jaco. Bruce graduated from Salisbury High School where he was an athlete in football, basketball and track. After graduation, Bruce received his Bachelor's Degree in Education at Central Methodist University. He was a member of Alpha Phi Gamma Fraternity and played football while attending Central Methodist. He was known for his kindness, humor, strength, generosity, and faith, while leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Bruce was a devoted brother, uncle, and friend who cherished time with his family. He especially enjoyed fishing, any card game (especially spades), music, pro wrestling, and his beloved Kansas City Chiefs. Bruce had a gift for making people laugh, offering help in any way he could. His presence and smile brought comfort and joy to many.
Bruce is survived by his siblings, Carl Lewis (Myra), Faye Heidari (Masood), Valerie Jaco, Tina Jaco, Tony Jaco (Lori) along with his nieces and nephews, Brandon (Amanda), Ruby, BreAnna, Michael, Robert, Markasia, Markya, Aubrey, and Lauryn. His great nieces and nephew Elexus, Isabelle, Sy'Mari, Se'Nyra, A'mara, Sy'Vanna, and Kyson. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Lena Jaco, and by both maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial service for Bruce will be held on Friday, April 10. Visitation 12 - 1 pm, Funeral Service 1 - 2 pm at Second Baptist Church, at 407 East Broadway, Columbia, MO. Services will be live streamed at 1:00 PM through the HT May & Son Funeral Home Facebook page and can be found at https://www.facebook.com/htmayfuneralhome.
Bruce will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love he gave and the lives he touched.
