Brian Griffin's Obituary
Brian Griffin, 43, of Columbia, Mo. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 12:00 pm at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia. Visitation will be from 11-12 Saturday at the funeral home.
Brian was born January 4, 1972 the son of Charles Loury and Luticha Griffin. He passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at his home. His dream was to be in law enforcement and he realized that by working for the Boone County Sheriff Department for a total of 11 years. He also worked for the city of Columbia as a CSA officer for two years. He was a die hard state of Illinois sports fan. The one exception being he loved the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
He loved the Lord and he gave his life to Christ at an early age many years ago. He loved to make people laugh. He had a heart transplant at the young age of 19 and he defied the odds by living to the age of 43 and he had a son after undergoing the transplant. He was a great father to his children.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Katina Griffin, one son Darius Griffin , two daughters Briana Griffin and Naketa Clark, grandchildren Xzavion Holman, Zion Holman and Zabrionne Holman, his father Charles Loury, four sisters Sonya Griffin , Tina Strickland, Kim Houston and Mikyla Griffin. two brothers Corey Griffin and Jacob Griffin and a cousin/brother Courtney Taylor, one uncle John(Elaine) Fonville and one aunt Faith Roundtree, his mother-in-law Pauline Marteen, his brother-in-law Anthony Marteen, and his sister-in-law Delline Marteen, and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Luticha Griffin, his grandparents Amos and Geraldine Fonville, two uncles Gerald and David Fonville, and twin brothers Steven and Dwayne Fonville.
