Brian Ashcraft was born to Cecil (CB) Logan Jr. and Wilma Ashcraft-Logan on January 30th, 1974 in Fayette, Missouri. At an early age, his humorous personality formed and was obvious in his interactions with his childhood friends and family. In 1992, he graduated from Fayette High School, where he played football, basketball and ran track. Throughout his life he kept in contact and remained loyal to many of his classmates and teammates.
After high school, Brian moved to the state of California. It was there he had three children: Briana, Davonte, and Trevon. During his time in California, he worked in the medical field, where he prepared patients for dialysis. When he returned to Missouri, Brian worked at various places. He enjoyed his work at Central Methodist College (CMU) in Fayette, Missouri, however cherished his work and coworkers at Hy-Vee and First Watch in Columbia, Missouri the most.
Known as ‘Logan’ or ‘B,’ he was the life of the party, and was ready to laugh and dance as soon as the beat dropped. He was known to hit his famous dance, the skateboard, or to create new dance moves on the spot. He was always equipped with a joke or story sometimes packaged with a full-body impersonation. He loved to make others laugh and experience joy. Because of this, he connected with everyone he encountered.
Outside of being the life of the party, Brian was the ultimate sports fanatic. He can be remembered attending his son’s early basketball and football games in Fayette, yelling out his own calls and loudly coaching from the sidelines. Above all, he loved the Los Angeles Lakers and San Francisco 49ers. He was prepared with the stats to prove his loyalty and never missed watching a game.
Brian’s love for people may have blessed others, but it was most visible with his family. He enjoyed family reunions, barbeques, and gatherings with his loved ones. All his life he had a special bond with his mother; who he laughed with and cared for. Throughout his life he had a special connection to his sister Kim Ashcraft, and nieces Kaneshya Lucas and Aliyah Reese, whom he affectionately called ‘Baby A.’ In addition to his love for his immediate family, he also loved his extended family. He met Darcy Grubb at CMU in August of 2009, and they married in August of 2015. From that marriage, he embraced four step-children; Christina, Stephane, Ema, and Kenicia, and three step-grandchildren; Jameson, Rhiannon, and Isabella. Brian and Jameson (“Little Man”) had a close bond.
While Brian is no longer with us, his positive spirit, unforgettable smile, and memories will be with us forever. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil (CB) Logan Jr., and his brother Cecil Logan III.
Left to cherish Brian’s memory are his wife Darcy Ashcraft of the home; his children: Briana, Davonte, Trevon, Christina, Stephane, Ema, and Kenicia; grandchildren: Jameson, Rhiannon, and Isabella; his mother, Wilma Allene Logan; siblings: Kim Ashcraft of Columbia Missouri; Tonja Ashcraft-Foster (Greg) of Rahway, New Jersey, Anthony Logan (Mercy) of California, Missy Logan-Whitfield (John) of Columbia, Missouri, Gorlan Smith of Jefferson City, Missouri, Lisa Wright-Logan of St. Louis, Missouri, Tim Wright of Columbia, Missouri, Tammy Redden-Hickem (Herman) of Columbia, Missouri; special nieces: Kaneshya Lucas of Columbia, Missouri and Aliyah Reese (Jarod) of Lenexa, Kansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
