Brenda K. Tatum's Obituary
Brenda K. Tatum, 55, of Kansas City, formerly of Marshall died Thursday May 9, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 17, 2013 at 1pm at Powerhouse Ministries in Marshall. Visitation will be from 12-1pm at the church.
Brenda Kay Tatum (Hughes) was born on February 17, 1958 in Columbia, MO. She was the sixth child of six born to Minnie C. Hughes and Donald Hughes Sr. She received her education at Keytesville Elementary and High School. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined 1st Baptist Church in Dalton, MO. She also attended 2nd Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO.
During her years after school she attended Vatterot and Sullivan in Kansas City where she received her CNA. She preceded her nursing career throughout the years in various nursing facilities.
Everyone knew Brenda for her “One of a kind smile”. She was a joy to our family.
She was preceded in death by her mother and two nephews.
Her celebration of life will be remembered by her significant other, Roy Eugene Scott of Kansas City, MO; daughter Roqueshia Tatum of Columbia, MO; son Jerron Tatum (Rachel) of Marshall, MO; four sisters, Barbara Williams of Kansas City, Carolyn Hughes of Marshall, Patricia Howard of Kansas City, and Pamela Hughes Smith of Kansas City. She also leaves one brother Donald Hughes Jr. (Jill) of Moberly, MO; two step-sisters Lanique and Dayne Hughes both of Marshall; and one step-brother Ron Hughes of the state of California. She leaves seven grandchildren; Jayron Kanessa, Lyric, Deja, Antoineshia, Christian, and Jerron Jr.; ten nieces and three nephews, one great-grandchild, Jazmyn; 27 great nieces and nephews, four great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
