Beverlee Ann Battle's Obituary
With profound gratitude and appreciation, we celebrate the graceful life of Beverlee Ann Coleman, who was born on January 1st, 1937, to the late Major A. and Marjorie D. Coleman. The second of three children, Beverlee shared her childhood with her beloved siblings, older sister Mary (Madge) and younger brother Major. She attended Sumner High School in Boonville, MO, and embraced her faith and love for the Lord at an early age.
Beverlee's life was filled with curiosity and adventure. She was an avid reader, often reading several books and genres at a time. Her favorite sport was bowling, and she actively participated in several leagues. She enjoyed traveling, which she did often with her sister Madge and cousins Nelson and Martha. Beverlee's love for watching tennis and her unwavering support for Chicago sports teams brought her immense joy.
While living in Chicago, IL., Beverlee met and married Milton Battle. Together, they raised three children: Bonita, Andrea (Ann), and Milton.
Beverlee was a driven woman and eager to fulfill her personal goals as she balanced the roles of mother and student, earning her nursing degree and eventually retiring as a nursing manager from Michael Reese Hospital after 40 years of service.
Beverlee's loving memories live on through her children Bonita (Glenn), Andrea, and Milton (Yolanda - deceased). She was a cherished grandmother to Jimmie, Terrance (Terry-preceded her in death), Kellye (Mike), Ashley, and Wiley. As well as twelve great-grandchildren, including the late Diontae' (Dej), Faith, Mina, Corey, Tiarah, Tianah, Jimmiel, the late Heaven Alise, Waheem (Ace), Lyric, Laila, and Kahlil.
Beverlee is survived by her dear sister Mary/Madge and her brother Major (Tanya), along with a large and loving family of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. Her warm spirit, generosity, and unwavering love have left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her.
In loving remembrance, we honor Beverlee Ann Battle and the beautiful life she lived, her boundless love, curiosity, love for travel, and countless memories she created with us. We are forever grateful for the joy and inspiration she brought into our lives.
