Barbara Hill's Obituary
Barbara Hill, 71, of Slater, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016, surrounded by loved ones at her home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Abbott's Chapel United Methodist Church in Slater, Missouri. at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday at the church.
She was born February 18, 1945, in Boonville, Missouri. She was the daughter of Nannie Mae Miller and John William Hockaday, she was educated in the Slater School System. She was a member and treasurer of Abbott’s Chapel Church, where she was a faithful member for many years.
She worked at Slater Garment Factory as a sewing machine operator for many years. She retired from there and went on o be a loving wife, mother and homemaker for her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory longtime friend Leon “Duke” Johnson of Slater, Missouri, her son Chrispen “C.T.” Hill of Slater Missouri, her daughter Ashley Hill of Slater, Missouri, her stepson Warren “Butchy” Hill of Kansas City, Missouri, stepdaughters Eva Hill of Kansas City, Missouri and Michelle Shones of Liberty, Missouri; brothers Raymond Hockaday of Slater, Missouri, and Norman Miller (Linda) of Marshall, Missouri. She also leaves nieces Shonté Jackson of Slater, Missouri, Jasmine Moore (Andre) of Slater, Missouri, and Lanita McMillan of St. Louis, Missouri; nephews Dominic Hill of Slater, Missouri, Gabriel Hill of Los Angeles, California, Brandon Davies of Lebanon, Missouri Roman Brown of Columbia, Missouri, Daemeon Miller of Orlando, Florida, Lamar Miller of Chicago, Illinois, and Tristan Miller of Kansas City, Missouri; cousins Greg Logan of Columbia, Missouri and Robert Logan of College Park, Georgia; uncle Sam Logan of Slater, Missouri, brother-in-law Samuel Moore of Slater, Missouri; great nephews Zacc Moore of Slater, Missouri, Larenz Moore (Belinda Vaughn) of Slater, Missouri, Keron Moore of Hughesville, Missouri, Javon Moore of Slater, Missouri, and LaShaun Moore of Slater, Missouri, also great nieces Jordana Moore of Jefferson City, Missouri and Jakota Smith of Slater, Missouri. Best friends Margaret Ann Dixson of Slater, Missouri and Joyce Ganaway and a host of great nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fisher Warren Hill, both parents Nannie Mae Miller and John William Hockaday, two brothers Vernon Miller, and Larry Miller and her sister Catherine Marie Moore.
