Audrey Thomas' Obituary
Audrey Thomas, 48, of Columbia, passed away at her home. Services will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at HT May & Son Funeral Home in Columbia. Visitation will be from 11 AM-12 PM at the funeral home.
Audrey Denise Thomas, 48, daughter of Brenda Thomas of Columbia, MO and Kenneth Payne of Des Moines, IA. She was born August 17, 1969 at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO and was raised in Montgomery City, MO the majority of her childhood. She attended the public schools in Montgomery City, MO, Quincy, IL and Columbia, MO.
Audrey was blessed to be so well known in her community and is loved by many. She will forever be remembered for telling it like is even if it was brutally honest. She knew how to have fun and was considered the life of the party. She loved to decorate her home and was passionate about her family and friends. Her kids and grandkids were her heart and soul. She also took very special care and showed love to all of her nieces, nephews and younger cousins. She would do anything she could for everyone in her life. Growing up she was especially close with her mom and was always by her side. Everywhere Brenda went Audrey was sure to go along. She quietly departed this life Friday, June 22, 2018 at her home in Columbia, MO. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charal T. Thomas.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her daughters: Della Thomas and Dorothy Thomas of Columbia, MO; three grandsons: Trey Thomas, Kaiden Thomas and Iverson Thomas; sisters, Patricia Thomas of Dallas, TX, Norma Thomas of Dallas, TX, Larvetta Bassett of Quincy, IL, Tonya Connor of Des Moines, IA, Nikki Wray of Columbia, MO, Kendra Miller of San Antonio, TX and Kennita Payne of DeLand, FL ; brothers Kenny (Lynthia) Thomas of Fort Worth, TX and Tavion Hughes of Des Moines, IA ; one step-sister Carita Wray of Dallas, TX., god-daughter, Jazlyn Thomas of Montgomery City, MO; many aunts and uncles and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to express their gratitude for all of the condolences and prayers from the community. Her mother, Brenda, would like to share a special thank you and appreciation to Pansy Thomas-Camp, Laurie Thomas, Delline Marteen, Floyd Thomas, Frankie Thomas Sr. and Rachel Bruemmer.
