Artisimo Roosevelt Poole's Obituary
In loving memory of Artisimo Roosevelt Poole, 69, who went to his Heavenly Father on May 21, 2021. He lived life to the fullest, always believing that God guided his way through all his trials and tribulations.
Artisimo came to Columbia, MO in 1980, where he lived until he took his last breath on May 21, 2021, at 5:54 p.m. at the University Hospital with his wife, Debra, by his side.
On June 5, 2021, there was a Homegoing Celebration at Mt. Celestial Baptist Church, 1410 Grand Ave. Columbia, MO, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Evidence of how much he was loved and respected was seen in the large number of friends and family who attended to celebrate his life and to support his family.
Artisimo was born in Virginia Beach, VA, on November 2, 1951, to the late Roosevelt Dawson and the late Juanita Sanderson Poole. He had a host of siblings. Artisimo talked a lot about his cousin, Bones, who he grew up with and his Uncle Harry who counseled him on family and spiritual matters. He married his best friend, Debra Richardson, on November 7, 2020. Artismo was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in December 2020.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Debra (Richardson) Poole, his four children, Yvonda Burnette of Kansas City, KS, Brandon King (Autumn), Kayla Bennette, and Christopher Ross (Carrie), all of Columbia, MO, nine grandchildren who he loved to spoil rotten, and a host of family, friends, nieces, and nephews.
Artisimo loved a good game of Dominoes and Spades with his family, and as they know, he loved to win and hated to lose! He also loved going on a daily trip to the grocery store, fishing, having his wife, Debra, read him the Bible, and singing gospel music, especially by The Mighty Clouds of Joy.
