Arnold 'Arnie" Green's Obituary
Arnold "Arnie" Green, 82, of Boonville, MO, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. A Celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 1:15 PM at the Eagles Lodge in Boonville. The visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Eagles Lodge. Arnie was born on April 18, 1940, in Prairie Home, MO the son of Virgil L. and Lena J. (Lacy) Green. He grew up in Prairie Home, attending school there.
Arnie proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1957-1960, spending most of his time in Germany.
He was employed by McGraw Edison/Toastmaster Inc. for over 40 years as an assembly line foreman. Arnold was loved and respected by many who worked with him there.
On October 20, 1962, he married a widowed Peggy Sue Elliott Vollrath and her four children that he accepted as his own (Donnie Joe, William Earl, Glenda Gale and Cheryl Ann Vollrath). Peggy preceded him in death on May 24, 1986.
As a new "father" to two young boys, he spent weekends taking them hunting and fishing and teaching them to enjoy the outdoors. Of course, he had his own special way of spoiling his two young daughters as well.
On June 25, 2005, he married Rickie Lou Bishop Hammond. Again he received her two sons, David William and Anthony Dwayne Hammond as his own. Rickie and Arnie enjoyed time together bowling and spending time with their many friends and family throughout the area. They also loved attending David and Tony's football and basketball games.
Arnie leaves to cherish his memory his wife Rickie of the home, one brother Sammy Joe Green of Boonville, three sons William E. (Patrice) Vollrath, and David W. Hammond, both of Boonville, Anthony D. Hammond (Michael) of Independence, MO, and one daughter Cheryl Ann Vollrath Imhoff (Russell) of Boonville, MO, as well as 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great grandchildren and one on the way. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and a sister in law Betty Brown.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents and his first wife, are his brothers V.L., Bobby Lee, Gale, Bill, Tommy and Paul and one sister Rena Elizabeth Chamberlain, one son Donnie Joe Vollrath, his daughter Glenda Gale Vollrath Heckman and a grandson Lennie Heckman.
Arnie was a very wonderful and caring man, respected by many people and adored by his family and will be missed by many including his two fur babies Buddy and Bambi.
