Angela Perry's Obituary
Angela Rae Perry, 36, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 3, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014 at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Columbia at 11:00 Am. There will be no visitation.
She was born on November 21, 1977 in Columbia, Missouri to Eugene “June” Jackson and Virginia “Gabrielle” (Elbert) Radcliffe.
Angela was raised in Columbia, MO., by her maternal grandparents Lena and James Jones. She graduated from East Chicago Central High School in 1996, and joined the United States Army immediately thereafter. She served with the 82nd Airborne Battalion at Fort Bragg until 2000. As a soldier, she served honoring the core military values: Loyalty, Duty, Honor, Selfless Service, Integrity, and Personal Courage. During her tenure in the United States military she met and later married her spouse, Ralph Melvin Perry Sr.
Through this union, her pride, and ultimate joy Ralph Melvin Perry, Jr. (RJ) was born April 29, 2000. She was elated to take on her responsibility with immense jubilation as RJ’s cheerleader. She found peace and solitude in being the best inspiration for her son. As a motivating force in RJ’s life she led him with admirable determination which has been radiant to anyone that has ever witnessed or observed the bond that they shared. She carried many titles throughout her life but the one that held the most value was “RJ’s Mom.” She accepted Christ prior to her demise. Angela was a loving wife, sister, mother, aunt, and friend to many.
Angela is survived by her spouse Ralph Melvin Perry, Sr., her son Ralph Melvin Perry, Jr. of Columbia, MO, three step-children: Monet Perry, Renee Perry, and Marquise Perry, her parents: Eugene Jackson of Columbia, MO and Virginia (Darryl) Radcliffe of Lynwood, IL, her maternal Grandmother Lena Ann Jones of Columbia, MO, her siblings: Calvin (April) McHenry of Petersburg, VA, Quatonya (Perris) Collins of Okinawa, Japan, Shauna (Eric) Purvis of Clarksville, TN, Yolanda Porter of St. Louis, MO, Thomas Jackson of Columbia, MO, Malinda Jackson of Columbia, MO, and Antwon Radcliffe of Lynwood, IL, a special niece Taylor Collins, her great aunt, Diane (Elder W.T.) Morris, her great uncle, Joseph Nichols of New Franklin, MO her maternal Aunt: Mia Jones of Carmel, IN, her maternal uncle: Darrin Jones of Columbia, MO, special cousins: Cynthia Anderson of Columbia, MO, Elder Donald (Benita) Buckner of Florissant, MO, Mila (Joseph) Ssekasozi of Columbia, MO, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Angela was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Sarah Belle and Eugene Jackson, and her maternal grandfather, James Melvin Jones.
