Andrew Sercu's Obituary
Andrew Michael “Bubba” Sercu, 42, of Boonville, Missouri, has passed away. Bubba was born on January 9, 1979 in Boonville, Missouri. Bubba loved his family immensely, though nothing compared to the love he had for his three children, Arianna, Drew, and Alexie. He liked his dog Azure an awful lot, too. His personality illuminated the darkest of rooms, and his smile was infectious. Bubba possessed an enormous heart, and though he could be bullheaded, he would have done anything for anyone. Though Bubba loved many sports, his passion was for baseball. He developed a love for the game at a young age that remained through adulthood. Many weekends were spent playing softball at Rainbow Field in Columbia, and Bubba traveled throughout Missouri to participate in softball tournaments. Bubba was a plumber by profession, a trade he learned from his father Denny over 20 years ago. In his free time, he played softball, pool, was a member of the Eagles, and spent time with friends and family that will forever miss his presence.
Bubba is survived by his children, Arianna, Drew, and Alexie Sercu of Boonville, MO; father Dennis Sercu of San Antonio, TX; stepfather Steve Stock and wife Sandy of Camdenton, MO; sisters, Aubrey (Thom) Webster and Missy (Darin) Walker of Boonville, MO, Charice (Shane) Hilgedick of Fayette, MO, Billie Stock of Columbia, MO, Lauren Stock of Fort Myers FL; maternal grandmother Elaine Dillon of Pilot Grove; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bubba is preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Dillon Brown; his maternal grandfather William Dillon; and his paternal grandparents, Robert and Edna Sercu.
Visitation services will be held at 10 am, May 29th, 2021 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 708 11th street Boonville MO; with Celebration of life to follow at 11 am. Services will be broadcast on Facebook Live on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM at https://www.facebook.com/htmayfuneralhome.
A memory box will be available at Bubba’s memorial service. Friends and family are encouraged to write down a favorite memory of Bubba to be brought to his service. These memories will be shared with the family.
