Almeta Crayton, 53, arrived into her eternal home on Monday, October 21, 2013 at Boone Hospital Center. Funeral services will be held Friday November 1, 2013 at 12 pm at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia. Visitation wi Read Obituary
Praise God for the opportunity I and others had in meeting a “vessel used” by God to remind of us what we can do with the help and strength we receive from Jesus Christ. When no one else would, Almeta did. May our Lord and Savior bless her son with better health and comfort in this time of his life.

Ms. Almeta you have done more for me then you will ever know. You helped me meet the love of my life. I had convinced my employer to give to your Everyone Eat’s Dinner and they have a giftcard. You were unable to come pick it up so you sent Tyree. Little did I know you sent someone to be in my life forever! I thank you for that blessing. I thank you for all that you meant to him and all that you meant to “us” meaning Columbia. We all thank you and know that you have a huge smile on your face seeing how the sun was shining while you was honored

Ms. Almeta was truly a wonderful person full of wisdom and knowledge that she readily shared. I loved talking to her and sharing stories about life. She was one of the smartest persons I have known–had a manner of speaking that was plain and to the point, no long words and such!! She always made her point and it was such that you could not miss it!! She was truly one of my favorite people.
May she rest in peace. I will miss the voice of reason and wisdom.

To Tyrone and All of Almeta’s family,
I am saddened by the passing of your Mother, Daughter, Sister and Friend to all of us here in Columbia. Almeta and I both struggled with health issues. We had great talks about how life should be handled and what choices we should make. I love her so much.
Almeta taught me so, so many things about life and the way you should live it no matter who you are, where you live or what circumstances from which you have come. Surely she is in heaven with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and relieved of the confines of her earthly body. May God give all of you the peace that will be of benefit to you during this time of loss.
May God rest Almeta. She did more for people than they did for themselves. I didnt know her personally, but i remember her tireless efforts on the Columbia City Council and her dediation to the community. She helped all races of people. As far as i know, she was a good person. May God deliver her to her home in heaven. I wish more afro-americans in the community could have the same dedication she did. I will miss her. My prayers go out to the family at this time of loss, because Almeta’s passing was a true loss, not only to the family, but to ALL of Columbia. I meet Almeta when she first moved to Columbia, and I liked her and Tyrone right away. She always had that smile on her face and so much wisdom and giving in her heart. She became my Sister in Christ at church and we will all miss her. I will not say good-bye Almeta, but save me a seat up there in heaven, I miss you.

In fact, her work was made known in Tampa Florida.
Almeta touched the heart of many and change the face of
Columbia’s city officials (smile).
Imagine that… Columbia’s first Black City Councilwoman. She will now be in the history books!!
