Allison Mitchell's Obituary
Allison Mitchell, 42, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Oak Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 11-12PM Saturday at the church.
Allison Elyse Mitchell, 42 years young, departed this life on February 24th, 2025.
Allison was born to Marion and Vevlie Mitchell on January 15th, 1983, in Fort Campbell, KY. Allison graduated from Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, MO in 2001. She attended Tuskegee University and Columbia College, earning her associate's degree in 2004.
Allison worked in Pathology at the Institute for Outpatient Surgery and later worked at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital as a Tumor Registrar.
Allison was amazing with children. She worked with the youth of Oak Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and would take them on adventures to water parks, teach summer Bible School, and she was very passionate about mentoring the young ladies of the church. Allison loved her fur babies, Capone & Zora as well as her fancy fish. She enjoyed building tiny houses and working her green thumb with her house plants.
Allison was preceded in death by paternal grandparents: Willie J & Qussie Mitchell; maternal grandparents: Alice Thompson & Edwin Andrews; Aunts: Charlie Mae Sherman & Jean Epps; Uncle: Billy Mitchell; Brother: Johnny Mitchell; & special cousin: Ronald Bull.
Left to cherish Allison's memory are her parents, children: Sincere & Elyse Eure; brothers: Anthony Mitchell (Ashley) of Columbia, MO, Marion S. Mitchell Jr. (Sylvia) of Macon, GA, & Marcus Stroud Sr. (Stephanie) of Jacksonville, FL; sister: Marilyn McCluskey (William) of Cedartown, GA; great aunt Peggy Jean Durant of Sumpter, SC; Aunts: Jean Bass of Ewing, NJ, Berniece Edwards & Hattie Bull (Barry) both of Milton, DE; dearest niece Amanti Brown-Mitchell; dearest nephews: Jayden & Jaylen Mitchell: special cousins: Shirley Thompson, Ronald Chapman (Amy), & Joy Epps; dearest friends: Ida R. Hatton & Samhar Tekle; and a host of nieces, nephews, & cousins.
