Alice Douthet's Obituary
Alice B. Mason Douthet 92, of Lilbourn, Missouri passed away Friday, October 29, 2021, peacefully at home. Services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbia. Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid, Missouri. She was born on September 4, 1929 in Cayce, Kentucky. She was the only daughter born to the union of the late Rev. Eddie and Lilia Mary (Johnson) Mason. Alice was the oldest of three children.
Alice confessed life in Christ at an early age at Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Cayce, Kentucky. She was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Lilbourn, MO before moving her membership to Second Baptist Church in Jefferson City, MO.
Alice receive her early years of education in Cayce, Kentucky and Union City, TN. In later years she attended O'Bannon High School in New Madrid, MO.
Alice was united in marriage to the late Adam M. Douthet. To this union 5 children were born, Alex, Thomas, Kathryn, Isaiah and Lelia.
Alice retired from the University of Missouri after 30 years of service as a Youth Specialist. She worked in the area of 4-H in New Madrid, County.
Alice enjoyed reading, traveling and gardening. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars.
She is survived by: Alex Mason, Kathryn Wilson (LaVaughn) and Lelia Mason (Gail) all of Jefferson City, MO. Isaiah Douthet of Kansas City, MO. and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. One special cousin, Thomas Jewel Johnson of El Paso, TX. Shewas preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert Earl Hendrix, Richard Hendrix also her son, Thomas Douthet.
