Velora Bess Walkowicz

Velora Bess Walkowicz, 67, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at St. Luke United Methodist Church at 12PM. Visitation will be from 11-12 Saturday at the church. Velora Bess Cross Walkowicz was born November 3, 1954 in Callaway County the daughter of Eddie G. Cross Sr., and Helen Stapleton Cross. She joined Simpson Chapel AME Church at a young age. She married Ken Walkowicz and he preceded her in death. She worked at the University of Missouri. Bess was a very loving person who would help anyone in need. She loved spending time with her family. She leaves to cherish her memory three sisters Lena M. Norfleet, Maggie McDonald and Sue W. Cross all of Columbia, MO, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, nine brothers, and four sisters.
