Sherwood Hamilton, 76, of Boonville, formerly of Columbia, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Ashley Manor in Boonville. Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 3PM at Boonville Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Sherwood Hamilton was born on June 25, 1945 in Memphis, TN, the son of Rev. Sampson Townsend Sr. and Mildred Townsend. He graduated from Lester High School in Memphis. He graduated from the Oklahoma State Community College. He then moved to Columbia, MO where he was a chef for the University of Missouri. Sampson was well loved by his family and all of the friends that he made. He leaves to cherish his memory two brothers Rev. Sampson Townsend Jr., and James Townsend a very special friend Polly Blomenkamp and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Rosie Lee Taylor.
