Tenacious, energetic and courageous. These three words define Serita Bartlett. This is how she pursued life. She confronted every challenge ready to win and willing to endure any setback. The same qualities that gave her a love for life gave her the strength, in the end to endure hardship. Eager to help, work hard and enjoy the benefits of her labor with her family. In the end, she did not surrender, she submitted to a call to go home to God. Serita Janine Key was born August 25, 1960 to Edward Lee Key and April Odell Hayes in Columbia Missouri. She attended and graduated in 1979 from Da- vid H. Hickman High school where she is remember for taking part in concert choir and track & field activities. Following graduation Serita was blessed with the birth of two daughters; Kenyette (1980) and Camille (1983). In September of 1987 she married LeAnthony R Bartlett of St. Louis Missouri. To this union were born three children; LeAnthony Jr. (1987), LeAron (1988), and Charnay (1996). Serita is a 1990 graduate of Sanford & Brown Business College (St. Louis, MO) with an Associates Degree in Business Administration. Upon her graduation Serita entered employment as an administrative assistant at the headquarters for Macey’s Department Stores in St. Louis Missouri. She also worked for several years at the University of Missouri (Columbia) as a Communi- cations Technician. Serita joined the church at an early age. Since 2006 she has been a member of Restoration of Life Ministries in Columbia, Missouri. Serita passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, August 4, 2019 in Columbia Missouri. Serita was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves five children; Kenyette Glenn (St. Peters MO), Camille Reynolds (Columbia, MO), LeAnthony Bartlett Jr. (Columbia, MO), LeAron Bartlett and Charnay Bartlett (St. Louis, MO). Three siblings; Chrissa Key (Columbia, MO), Mark Key (Columbia, MO) and Cory Key (Springfield, MO). There are five grand-daughters and four grandsons who will also love, reverence and respect her memory. Serita is survived by five aunts, two uncles and a host of cousins, friends and acquaintances. The family also honors and acknowledges her mother-in-law Shirley Bartlett & family (St. Louis, MO).
