Roman Bylczynski, 70, of Rolla, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at University of Missouri Hospital. A celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Read Obituary
Roman was my uncle/godfather. When we were young, he was like a vibrant light, and a dreamer. I never forgot the laugh, the smile, though time passed. Fishing on the Wisconsin River. Pool at Sharkey's. One of the few people in life who called me Danny. His CB handle "Heartbreaker" has left the airwaves. Peace to all!
Romie came into my life when I was 12 years old so I have many memories of him. However there is one that always stands out for me. I was 14 and while doing barn chores I managed to injure myself severing off the tip of my finger. My mom called my sister Pam and Romie saying I had been hurt and to please get out to our farm. Then called the hospital who informed my mom to get my hand into ice water while transporting me to the hospital. By the time my mom was off the phone Pam and Romie had arrived. My mom told them what the hospital said, now you have to visualize that we are standing in our kitchen surrounded by cupboards filled with large bowls however Romie went into our family room and grabbed the dust cover off the stereo system and filled that up with ice water. And that is how I went to the hospital. I remember the strange looks I got from the hospital staff as I walked in with my hand in this dust cover instead of a bowl. The thing about Romie that I loved was he was someone I could always count on to be a big brother to me and be there when I needed him. But he did not work well under pressure LOL. Thank you for all the times you were there for me Romie, you will be missed <3
Roman was my cousin on our mom’s side. Praying that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding can comfort you now-

I remember when my sister and myself would be at grandma’s place for a couple weeks in the summer and Roman once took us over to Dancy’s bar and Dancy’s store and give by us snickers bars! (Don’t remember if we got the candy from the store or the bar 😬). The memories are pretty faded but I rember Dancy’s bar, the little store and Roman telling us not to tell grandma. Great memories!!!

Pam, Bud, Scott and Amanda, I wish to send my sincere sympathies to you all. May you find comfort in this time; I share the hurt of having to say goodbye to one's dad. A prayer for peace in remembering Romie.
Romie was the father of my children. He could be very thoughtful and kind. One of those men who would give you flowers for no reason. Even after we were divorced and he was still in Lake Mills would come over and help if needed. He had a great sense of humor and loved to fish, play pool and cards. He could be the life of any party and got along with everyone. And even though he was always going to do something and never did he was the kind of guy you gave a pass to. I am sure he loved his children even though they may not have always known it. He was the kind of guy who was a good friend but didn't know how to be a father or husband. I could never stay mad at him. He was just Romie. And even though I haven't seen him in years it is sad to know he is not in this world anymore.
Amanda, we, your Edison family, send our love and prayers for you and your family as you deal with this difficult time. You are so important to us. May your good memories of your father bring you peace.

I have a lot of memories of my father. I think my favorite was when my dad, daughter, and I went mini golfing. He made her eyes light up with excitement each hole while having a competition against me. But he always encouraged her and showed how much he loved her. I will miss him.
