Mary Fayard

Mrs. Mary Katherine Stacer Fayard , age 75, joined our Heavenly Father on Friday evening, October 16th, 2020. Mary was born on March 13, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of the late Mark Richard and Elsie Catherine Stacer and lived in Kansas City all of her life. Richard Fayard (Papa) and Mary enjoyed 21 years of life together. They spent time traveling the world visiting family, grandchildren, and great children. When they were not in Kansas City, they loved their life at the Lake of the Ozarks. Mary and Papa also loved their time as a snowbird in Destin, Flori-da for three months each year. Papa and Mary were true companions and shared their love and commitment through all that life brought them. Mary was known lovingly by her large family as “Mar Mar” or “Granny” or Fanny”. Mary loved her family, who all adored her! She was a wonderful cook and her legendary chili recipe, among others, will be passed from generation to generation. Mary took great pride in her welcoming hospitality and always made everyone feel so at ease in her home. She had an amazing talent for painting, decorat-ing, and an eye for design. Mary is survived by her two brothers, Richard and Trudy Stacer, Jimmy and Joyce Stacer, and her sister Betsy and Kevin Passer; her oldest daughter Michelle (Alexander) Bayley & husband Chad Bayley and their children Amanda, Nicolas, Meagan, Quentin, Hanah and Tovah; her son Matthew Alexander & his wife Tiffini Alexander and their son Hudson; her husband Richard N. Fayard of Kansas City, Missouri; her step son Richard Fayard, Jr. & his wife Sandy Fayard and their children Christopher, Darren, Brad-ley, Tyler, and Brenton; her step daughter Cathy (Fayard) Larrabee & husband David Larrabee and their children Danielle (Larrabee) Johnston, Megan, and Jeff; her step daughter Sharon (Fayard) Farnsworth & husband William Farnsworth and their children Jessica (Farnsworth) Locke, Lauren (Farnsworth) Prowell, and Nathan; and her step daughter Vicki Fayard. Mary is also survived by a mul-titude of beautiful great grandchildren numbering 22 around the world; Alec, Haydon, Zoe, Londyn, Britanni, Abel, Analiese, Gabrielle, Josie, Jackson, Nellie, Nora, Nolan, Peyton, Mason, Ella, Evelyn, Owen, Layla, Kenzie, Maisy Su, and Theo . A visitation will start at 10:00 followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday October 24, 2020 at St. John LaLande Catholic Church, 805 NW R.D. Mize Road, Blue Springs, MO 64015, with Reverend Ronald Elliott officiating. For those of you are not able to attend the service a live stream will be available on St John LaLande Catholic Church facebook page under videos. The video will be saved for a couple of weeks. Based on the guidance of Eastern Jackson County and Bishop Johnston, we ask that those in the pews please wear your masks throughout the Mass. A celebration of Mary’s life will follow the service from 1:00-4:00 located at RC’s restaurant at 330 E. 135th, Kansas City, MO 64145. Parking suggested on the north side or in the back parking lot. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions to the American Diabetes Association in Mary Fayard’s honor.
