Reverend Linda Lee Kerr, 82 of Boonville, MO, passed away peacefully at the home of her son. She was surrounded by her loving family on Friday evening of 24 April 2020. Linnie was born 29 November 1937, in Shackelford, MO., to Robert (Bob) Franklin Martin and Margaret (Maggie) Lee Wright. Maggie passed away when Linnie was three years old. Linnie, as she was affectionately nicknamed by her father. On December 25, 1954 in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Alvin F. Kerr Sr. Linnie was preceded in death by her father, mother, step-mother Genevieve Cockrell-Martin, sister Anna Margaret Wheeler, half-brother Clarence Banty, husband Alvin F. Kerr Sr., son Anthony T. Kerr, and six children who were stillborn or died during childbirth, son-in-law Andell L Washington Sr., daughter in-law Patricia A. Butler-Kerr. Linnie leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her passing, daughters Anna L. Washington and Malinda A. Kerr of Columbia, MO, Coretha G, Kerr and Juanita S. Kerr of Grandview, MO and son Alvin F. Kerr Jr of Kansas City, KS. Linnie also leaves 14 grandchildren, 27 Great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Nephews Robert and Dennis Wheeler, Ernest Williams Jr, Larry and George Clark. Nieces Peggy Flowers, Willa Husband, Ruth Yancey, and Terecia Clark. A host of cousins, grandnieces, grandnephews and many friends she gained through her lifetime. Linnie made friends easily wherever she happen to be. Linnie confessed her faith in Christ at an early age. Her faith shone throughout her life and everyone felt her love. She was an ordained minister and regularly attended services and preached at churches throughout the central Missouri. Visitation will be 11 am – 1 pm, 9 May 2020, at Alexander-May Funeral Home, 400 W. Cooper Street, Sedalia, MO 65301. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 virus, a funeral service celebrating Linnie’ s life will be held at a date TBD, at Burns Chapel Free Will Baptist Church located in Sedalia, MO. The family acknowledges, with sincere appreciation, the many comforting messages, tributes and other expressions of kindness evidenced at this time in thought and deed. Friends and relatives like you have made our burdens lighter. We shall never be able to thank you enough.
