Larney Parham, 89, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Harry S. Truman Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at 4:00 PM, visitation will be from 3-4PM Saturday at the church. Services will be live-streamed through Facebook on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 4:00 PM at https://www.facebook.com/htmayfuneralhome. Larney Leon Parham, 89, of Columbia, MO, was called home to be with our Lord on Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Harry S. Truman Veteran's Administration Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born October 20, 1931 in Emporia, VA to the late Lizzie Parham and Robert Milton Parham. He attended Greensville County Training School on Low Ground Road in Emporia, VA. He was an active member of Claresville Baptist Church in Emporia, VA. He loved the Lord. He served in the United States Army from 1950-1957. He worked as a Custodian in the Maintenance Department at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital for several years until his retirement. He loved to tell military stories, talk about Sharp End , go gambling on the boat, playing lotto scratch off tickets, feeding the neighborhood cats and helping people, which he helped many. If they needed a ride somewhere, a small loan, etc.. he would always be there to help them. Survivors include: Children, Delores Coats of Columbia, MO, Darlene Mathis (Malcom) of Florissant, MO, Charleen Jones (Mark) of Houston TX, Martha Doxley of Tulsa, OK, Linda Clay of Columbia, MO, Lorenzo Doxley (Ingrid) of Houston, TX, Vickie Doxley of Florissant, MO, Renee Thrower-Smith (Al) of Aurora, CO, Ronald Thrower of Aurora. CO, Randy Parham of Missouri City, TX, 1 sister, Lizzerean James of Skippers, VA. He has 25 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his grandparents and parents, Larney was preceded in death by his companion of over 59 years, Barbara Jean Doxley, one daughter Lizzerean Doxley, two sisters, Naomi Boone, Allie Bee Sykes, three brothers, Warren G. Parham, Robert Lester Parham, and Oscar Parham. His legacy will live on for years to come.
