Larry Horning, 72, of Kansas City, MO, formerly of Boonville, MO, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Hope Care Center in Kansas City. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 1:30 PM at H.T. May & Son Read Obituary
Larry Horning was my supervisor at Seligson Architects. He was also a great friend.
We are so sad that I could not go to his funeral.
One of the nicest guys that I have ever met .
I will always remember him.

Larry was a dear friend since our early career days in KC. We both lived near Westport in KC spending many fun times with college friends. We had fun adventures to KSU bowl games and even a mini vacation to Door County Wisconsin after I moved back to Galesburg IL a very historic railroad town. He was in my wedding and we had many wonderful visits to Rocheport. So sorry that we had lost contact recently and missed his services. Our prayers are with him and his family.
Larry was my best man at Meredith's and my wedding. Larry, as a friend of both Meredith & me, was thrilled when she & I ended up falling in love on the dance floor in May of 1980. Then by November 1980 we were married. I met Larry when he was one of my 6 (!!) roommates (primarily architecture students) my first year of college at KSU's Smith Scholarship House. We shared many, many memories through many, many years. Even when he was still working / running Trailside, he usually drove up for the evening to help Meredith & me celebrate our long-running annual "Last Saturday in February" party here in KC, KS. Throughout the past couple of years, I was so worried about Larry and his health, but dealing with our own family's health issues had to take precedence. These last few years we just lost contact unfortunately. Larry was such a great soul and will be SO missed.

He was a member of Christ Church, Boonville. His Trailside Cafe was very popular. He worked tirelessly cooking hamburgers. I enjoyed visiting with Larry, as I also love historic architecture. Pat Holmes
